I believe that this can be a yes or a no answer for the question of: Will the gang community provide that level of control for their members? I state that because it all depends on how well the gang is organized. There are many gangs that actively recruit new members, and offer them: â€Å"(1) Fraternity—the gang advertises itself as, cool, hip, the social thing to be in; (2) Obligation—the gang appeals to a person s sense of community; and (3) Coercion—the gang uses physical and psychological intimidation† (gangs, n.d.).
